Summit County, Ohio: Administrative Judge Amy Corrigall Jones is pleased to announce that Susan Sweeney, Assistant Court Executive Officer, has become a Certified Court Executive.
Offered through a partnership between the Ohio Supreme Court’s Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts’ Institute for Court Management since 2002, the Court Management Program addresses specific training needs of court leaders. Ohio is among a handful of states that bring this training program to court professionals so that traveling out-of-state isn’t necessary.
With a goal of improving the management of state court administration, the intensive educational program better prepares court professionals for management and leadership. In 2015, Sweeney attained the Certified Court Manager credential by completing the three year Level I program consisting of coursework in court performance standards, caseflow management, human resources, fiscal management and technology management. Sweeney recently completed the three year Level II program for executive certification, which includes topics such as strategic planning, leadership, high performance court framework, and court community communication.
“Susan’s hard work in becoming a Certified Court Executive confirms her dedication to her role in this Court and desire to enhance the administration of justice in Summit County. We are proud of her accomplishment.” stated Judge Corrigall Jones.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor offered her congratulations, as did Supreme Court Administrative Director Michael L. Buenger during a graduation ceremony Friday at the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center.
